The Battle of Getting Things Done

Once upon a time ago my child took a nap. This time which wasn’t that long ago was a wonderful time. I was able to tackle my to-do list, and be quite productive in a few hours. Even if Adam didn’t nap he use to sit quietly in is room and play.

This seems to be a thing of the past because he won’t even stay in his room for more than 15 minutes. Naps appear to be a thing of the past and I’m now trying to figure out how to get things done with him around.

I try to incorporate him in as many activities as possible. Unloading the dishwasher, folding clothes and such. These tasks I can still seem to work on. The other tasks like my homework or even writing a blog seem impossible now (I have been working on an update to my Photography Challenge blog for a week and can’t seem to finish it.)

This lack of nap has also resulted in a very challenging child which is a blog for another day. I know he needs a nap, he knows he’s tired because he’s practically falling asleep in my arms but still refuses to sleep.

I’m wondering what I am missing. Maybe it’s because I don’t have a laptop and can’t sit in the living room while Adam plays. Or maybe I am not taking advantage of some evenings when I am home after Adam goes to bed (but in all honesty I value my sleep and if I can get 8 hours I try to take it.)

Are there any Moms out there who have the answer. And the answer can not be daycare, day camp or anything that costs money. How do you get everything done and still stay sane because I am starting to go a little loopy!
