I Really WANT to go to the Gym

I really truly want to go to the gym but time has not been my friend latley. When I have been evaluating things I have been choosing sleep over the gym. People will say that I am not making the gym a priority.

The past week this is how a day has looked.

5-5:30 am – Adam wakes up. We proceed to argue about how it’s still time to sleep and this usually goes on for an hour when it’s apparent that I’m not going to get any sleep.

6:30-8:40 am – Depending on how long we argue this routine can start as early as 6 or as late as 7. Adam and I get ready for work and school. I make Adam’s breakfast and lunch then get breakfast into myself. There are usually dishes to do but depending on if Adam wants my attention or not sometimes we play and there is usually always dancing in the kitchen.

8:40-9 am – This is getting dresses and out the door. It’s amazing how long it can take a 4 year old to put on snow pants and walk to school.

9-9:50 am – This is the long, usually not so fantastic commute in the public sardine can. I mean city bus. (Today isn’t so bad) On the plus side I have been getting a lot of reading done when I pull out my book.

9:50-2:40 pm – Job 1. I was given an awesome, too good to say no opportunity to work in an accounting office through tax season.  This period of the day goes by in a blink of an eye and I love every second of it.

2:40-3:30 pm – I’m back in the can of sardines heading home usually watching the clock praying that I’m not going to be late to pick up Adam from school.

3:30-3:45 pm – We walk home sometime this is shorter,  sometimes it takes way longer then it should.

3:45-4:00 pm – I unpack Adam’s bag, read notes and we cuddle and talk about the day and what happened.

4:00-5:00 pm – This is cook and eat dinner time.  Lucky for me what I wear to Job 1 I can wear to Job 2 if I planned things right in the morning.

5:00 – 5:15 pm – Another commute time, it really doesn’t take 15 minutes to get to work but by the time I change my shoes and get settled it can be that long.

5:15 – 9:15 pm – Job 2. Sometimes it can be crazy, other nights dead but it still takes effort to be awesome and sweep the floor before I leave.

Now here is usually where I plan on going to the gym since it’s in the same plaza as job 2 but if I start working out at 9:30 it’s usually 2 – 2 1/2 hours which means hitting the pillow at midnight and possibly scoring 5 hours of uninterrupted sleep. I don’t know about you but 7 hours of sleep sounds a heck of a lot better.  Plus by 9:15 my body wants to collapse from under me.

So if someone can create a way for me to work out when I sleep that would be amazing. In the mean time I’m going to tell myself at the beginning of the week that I will go to the gym 4 times by Saturday. Maybe I will figure out a time to make it work. But I think in the next two months while I am trying to juggle life I will just accept whatever time I manage to squeeze in.

Oh and remember earlier when I said the bus wasn’t bad – by face and body are currently squished against the window.
